Volunteer-run haunted gym to open Oct. 25; organizers say event is free and family-friendly

Rebecca Green, identified by Corey as the lead organizer, said the attraction will include themed rooms — the witch’s room, a zombie room, an “autopsy room,” a daycare, a bridal room and a Medieval Room — and showed slides of the sets during the study session. "Our next night we're doing this is October 25. It is from 6 to 8PM," Green said.
Presenters said the attraction is free to attend and open to all ages. Corey said the group has run the event previously and that attendance has been large; organizers plan to count attendees at the next performance. "I think last year, there was, like, 700 in 1 night," one presenter said; another added, "800, how about that?" The organizers said some people return multiple times.
Commissioners and the mayor praised the volunteers and the quality of the sets and costumes. Commissioner Patterson noted that the event gives families a low-cost activity in Enid and thanked the volunteers for donating time and materials.
Organizers said the haunted gym is located at 10th and Chestnut (near the splash pad) and encouraged residents to attend. They closed the update by thanking city officials and saying, "See you Saturday."
