South Russell board approves Kimberwood Court porch with condition to wrap front posts

Board member made the motion to approve the application with that trim condition, and a fellow board member seconded. The board voted in favor; no oppositions or abstentions were recorded on the transcript.
The project as presented would add a covered entry above an existing porch and insert additional windows in the front of the house. Applicant Josh Donald said, “The porch is existing. We’re just adding the overhead on top,” and the board discussed details of the proposed posts and finishes. The submission described two 6-by-6 posts to be painted white to match the exterior trim; board members recommended a heavier, wrapped post (8-by-8) with visible base and capital trim to better match neighboring examples and the rendering presented.
Board members and staff reviewed photographs and a rendering included in the packet. One board member noted the rendering in the packet differed from the elevation drawings shown on screen and asked the applicant to confirm materials and proportions; the applicant indicated the intent to use PVC trim and matching painted posts. The approval was conditioned to require posts wrapped to the trim recommendation and that the trim include a base and capital detail.
The board recorded the approval and asked staff to note the required trim details on the front page of the plans before filing the approval.
The board did not record any additional changes to the siding, roof lines, or other elevations as part of the approval. If the applicant submits alternate materials or substantially different elevations, those changes would require a new review or an administrative modification as determined by staff.
