Student representative Peyton Johnson previews college fair, extracurriculars and athletic successes at board meeting

Peyton Johnson, a junior at New Berlin Eisenhower, provided the board with a student representative report summarizing recent and upcoming academic and extracurricular activities across the district.
Johnson told the board that New Berlin West hosted the WEF college fair for juniors in the district, offering information about postsecondary options, and that sophomores and juniors were offered the PSAT at a discounted rate this week. Johnson highlighted the district’s third annual postsecondary education night scheduled for Wednesday at New Berlin West.
Johnson also described recent student club and fundraising activity at Eisenhower: the Ike Care Club hosted a food‑truck event prior to homecoming; DECA and Change of Mind raised more than $700 with a homecoming game fundraiser; and student union organized homecoming dance activities. Theater and music departments are preparing for fall concerts and an upcoming theatrical presentation.
On athletics, Johnson noted that the boys volleyball team is ranked fifth in the state and atop the Woodland West, Eisenhower boys soccer won the Woodland West and is scheduled for a crossover matchup, and Friday’s football game celebrated a win. Johnson also noted that an Eisenhower girls doubles tennis pair qualified for the WIAA Girls Individual State Tennis Tournament.
"I'm most looking forward to getting the experience and learning what it is to be in an, like an adult setting and learning how it is to be in meetings," Johnson said after introducing himself and listing activities he participates in, including orchestra, choir, DECA and theater.
The board welcomed Johnson and said they look forward to his contributions during the school year.
