Utah assessment staff reported that the STAMP assessment for dual‑language immersion (DLI) classes opened this week and that initial administration has proceeded with expected "bumps" for a first rollout.
State staff explained procedural steps for districts: LEA users must request non‑teacher user accounts through the Avant site (a "request support" button), teachers and proctors access test and teacher codes via designated Dropbox folders, and LEA users can download and share folders when teacher email mismatches occur.
Staff reiterated eligibility: only students enrolled in a DLI school and a DLI class can take the STAMP assessment through the state's contract. Districts that run parallel, locally paid STAMP administrations for non‑DLI students (for example, for Seal of Biliteracy) must arrange that separately with Avant; the USBE cannot add those students within the state's rollout.
Staff also warned of a few common rollout issues and fixes:
- If teachers did not receive mailbox Dropbox links, an LEA‑level user can share or download a folder and forward it to the teacher.
- If non‑teacher users (principals, coaches) need Avant access, the LEA coordinator must request it from Avant via the support link.
- Some districts reported roster mismatches; staff asked directors to notify the state if students shown do not belong to their LEA or are not DLI‑eligible.
Several presenters asked districts to use the Dropbox guidance posted on the Avant Utah web page, to avoid merging personal and Avant accounts, and to contact Avant support for account issues. Staff listed district contacts for roster and accommodation support in the slide materials.
The state said it will continue to update guidance and encouraged directors to email the assessment office for unresolved issues.
