SBA briefs Wilson County on disaster-loan options after July 2025 storms; deadline April 6, 2026 for EIDL

A U.S. Small Business Administration official told the Wilson County Commissioners Court that low-interest disaster loans are available to businesses, nonprofits, homeowners and renters affected by severe storms, straight-line winds and flooding in July 2025.
Anna Nunez, public-information officer and public-affairs specialist with the SBA Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience, told the court she is deployed to Boerne and covers eight counties. She said Wilson County was designated a contiguous county under Presidential disaster declaration 21174 and is eligible specifically for SBA economic injury disaster loans (EIDL). "Wilson County was declared a contiguous county for the Texas presidential disaster declaration 21174 and is only eligible for economic injury disaster loans from the SBA," Nunez said.
Nunez outlined key program features: economic-injury loans are available regardless of whether a business suffered property damage; the maximum business loan is $2,000,000; there is no application fee; there are no payments and no interest for the first 12 months; and the deadline to apply for EIDL is April 6, 2026. She also offered SBA assistance with applications and requested that county officials share the information through county communications channels.
Nunez thanked Wilson County Judge Hank Whitman for the invitation and said she would follow up in writing and provide materials the county can distribute.
