Staff presented a summer project recap listing in-house and contracted capital projects completed over the 2025 summer break; work included fieldhouse backboard cleaning, ceiling tile and floor work, locker cleaning and preventative maintenance.
Frank Lord, Buildings and Grounds staff for the Germantown School District, presented the committee with the 2025 summer project recap during the Oct. 7 meeting.
Lord said the recap lists in-house projects and contracted capital projects completed over the summer and intentionally excludes routine custodial, daily/weekly maintenance, and summer cleaning tasks that are part of ongoing operations. He said large items included bringing a lift into the fieldhouse to lower and detail backboards and associated mechanicals, ceiling tile work and deep floor cleaning or refinishing, locker cleaning, and a variety of preventative-maintenance (PM) tasks.
Committee members asked for examples of the larger items; Lord described closing the fieldhouse for about a week to perform detailed cleaning and work on backboards and ceilings. Trustees asked for photographs to accompany future recaps; Lord said he would bring photos showing the lift work and other notable projects.
The recap was received as information; no funding or contract decisions were made as part of the presentation.
