Buildings & Grounds reports 160 completed work orders; pool pump alarm and generator issues detailed

The Germantown School District Buildings & Grounds staff told the committee Sept. 16 that 160 maintenance work orders were completed between July 31 and Aug. 29, 2025.

Frank, a buildings and grounds staff member, said the district’s maintenance system (Dude Solutions) generated the report and that no completed work orders had completion dates later than 45 days. "This report includes the description, priority level, location, day's age, request date, which is the date submitted, and completion date of the work orders completed between 07/31/2025 and 08/29/2025," he said.

The report categorized work-order priorities as 157 medium and 3 high (priority ratio 157:3). Committee members asked about two specific items: a pool pump alarm at Germantown High School and a generator repair.

On the high‑priority pool pump alarm, Frank said the alarm device intermittently failed to communicate and that the device — rather than the pump itself — appeared to be the cause. "We have an alarm on the pool pump that essentially checks in multiple times a day. We're having issues on and off of it just sending the signal or not communicating," he said. Staff noted that the device’s failure would not pose an immediate danger over 24 hours but emphasized the need to distinguish a communication error from an actual pump failure.

Regarding the Germantown High School generator, staff said preventive maintenance occurred and a fault in the starter/shutdown system followed within 24 hours of that maintenance; the generator would start but would not always shut down properly. The committee was told the generator is exercised for one hour per week and that staff addressed the issue promptly.
