Commissioner Patrick O'Donnell, a member of the planning commission, said the changes will align Battle Creek zoning with neighboring Springfield and provide consistent standards for auto dealers along the corridor. "I think this is a good plan," O'Donnell said, noting the Motor Mile straddles municipal boundaries.
The ordinance also includes formatting updates to the regulations chart to improve readability. The motion to adopt the ordinance was moved and seconded on the floor and, per the transcript, the adoption was approved. The transcript records no roll-call tally of individual yes/no votes. The commission did not append additional amendments or conditions at the time of adoption.
