Fairport Harbor Village Council voted unanimously Tuesday to adopt several actions including a ceremonial appointment to the fire department, an emergency repair at the senior center, a request to amend the village's certificate and permanent appropriations, and payment of bills. The council then recessed into executive session to discuss the potential purchase of property.
The council adopted a special resolution appointing Hunter Garrison as a firefighter/lieutenant for the village and administered the oath of office. The resolution was adopted as an emergency and approved by unanimous voice vote of members present.
Council also approved an emergency expenditure of $4,881 to McPhillips Heating & Cooling to repair the HVAC system at the senior center. Village Administrator Lucas Darling presented the quote and said the expense requires council authorization under the center's lease and bylaws; council moved and approved the emergency authorization during the meeting.
