Warren County solid-waste coordinator says Green River Waste sold to Republic of Kentucky; operations to continue during transition

Lawrence White, Warren County’s solid-waste coordinator, told the Warren County Fiscal Court on Oct. 2 that one of the county’s franchise haulers, Green River Waste, was sold to another franchisee and will become part of Republic of Kentucky.
White said the sale was completed recently and that Republic has kept Green River’s drivers. He told the court he has met with representatives from both companies and will continue to receive monthly reports under the new ownership. "Nothing's gonna change in their operation," White said in the meeting, adding he expected a smooth transition.
White estimated it will take about 60 days before trucks and branding are fully transitioned to Republic, and he said Green River handled roughly 55 residential accounts with most of its business in commercial and agricultural container service.
