KILLEEN, Texas — The Killeen City Council voted 7–0 Tuesday to amend the city’s future land use map for approximately 122.64 acres east of Roy J. Smith Drive and north of North Roy Reynolds Drive from an industrial designation to a residential-mix designation.
City planning staff told the council the change would not reduce the total industrial capacity available for the site based on current zoning and that the applicant’s concept plan provides a buffer between industrial and residential uses. "After our meeting with the applicant ... what they're doing is just reconfiguring where they can develop those land uses on their site," planning staff member Wallace Mescher said during the hearing.
