The Lakewood City Planning Commission on Oct. 1 voted to forward the 2026 comprehensive plan amendment docket to the City Council, setting the items for council review but not making substantive recommendations on individual applications.
Tiffany Spear, planning staff, told commissioners the docket contains 22 proposed comprehensive plan amendments for 2026. She said amendments numbered 2026-01 through 2026-12 are required to ensure state-law compliance and that 2026-13 through 2026-22 are city- or privately-initiated proposals, including two rezoning requests. Spear asked the commission to approve Resolution 2025-05 to send the full 2026 docket to the council for action.
A motion to approve Resolution 2025-05 and forward the docket to council was moved and seconded; commissioners then voted in favor by voice vote. Spear said the action constitutes docket-setting only; the council will conduct substantive review in its process.
Because the commission is setting the docket rather than making final land-use decisions, no substantive analysis or recommendations on individual amendments were made at the meeting. Commissioners may deliberate on specific amendments later in the review process once staff reports and public comments are scheduled at hearing dates before the council.
