Sawyer County code enforcement reported that September revenue rose in part because the county handled a higher number of animal intakes. The office took in 14 dogs in the month: eight were returned to their owners, five were transferred to a shelter and one was reclaimed by its owners after being reported stolen.
Code enforcement said animals at large remained the most common complaint and that staff are catching up on overdue inspections. No significant public-health complaints were recorded in the report.
