ROUND COUNTY — Round County School Board members on Oct. 21 debated whether to implement a student drug‑testing program that appears in board policy but has not been consistently carried out.
Superintendent Roe told the board the district has a KSBA‑approved policy on drug testing that was last updated in July 2024 but had not been fully implemented since about 2012. Roe said the policy covers students participating in competitive extracurricular activities and anyone who drives a school vehicle, roughly grades 6–12 as written in the policy language presented to the board.
