The street department will perform demolition work on Park Street for economic development and will construct a temporary parking lot; staff noted self-performing that work saves taxpayer dollars. Public Works also reported a three-year snow-removal request for proposals (RFP) for neighborhood streets is out and that the board should expect a formal recommendation at the November meeting. The RFP includes stronger provisions for mailbox and sod repair and provides higher compensation for contractors during extended events.
Board members asked about the process for reporting damaged yards; staff said residents should contact Public Works via the department email or the CRM incident report on the city website and repairs tied to sod damage will generally be made in the next growing season with liquidated damages if not completed on schedule.
