Hampton Township Council approves budget advertising, grant application and multiple municipal actions

At its Oct. 22 meeting the Hampton Township Council authorized budget advertisements and a public hearing, approved grant application and a series of routine municipal matters including emergency sewer repairs, property sale ratification and subdivision approvals.
Hampton Township Council on Oct. 22 voted to authorize public notice and advertise multiple budget-related ordinances, approved a local-share-account grant application for roof replacement at municipal properties and ratified several administrative and maintenance actions.
Council authorized the manager to advertise a public hearing on the proposed 2026 township budget for Dec. 3 and to advertise budget-related ordinances (tax millage, township budget and capital improvement budget) after the Nov. 10 budget workshop. The council also authorized advertisement of the Nov. 10 budget workshop meeting at 6 p.m.
Council ratified the manager’s execution of a sale agreement with Peter Rifugiato for 5125 Willow Wood Drive, approving the buyer’s assumption of existing code-enforcement responsibilities for that property. The council adopted Resolution 1116 authorizing submission of a Local Share Account (LSA) grant application for roof replacement work related to the municipal complex; the motion indicated an application figure of $525,000 while staff earlier described combined estimated costs of both municipal roofs at about $675,000.
The council ratified an emergency sanitary sewer repair contract in the amount of $22,000 to W. A. Petrakis Contracting LLC for work on Swansea Crescent West; authorized the police chief to begin the process to create a full-time police officer eligibility list; and endorsed the list of streets to be paved under the township’s 2026–2027 resurfacing program.
On land use matters the council referred the official map, zoning ordinance and subdivision and land development ordinance (SALDO) updates to the planning commission for review and authorized advertising of a Planning Commission public hearing for Dec. 8. Council approved two township-prepared subdivision applications: the Raintree Manor basin simple subdivision (1.17 acres to transfer a regional stormwater facility to township ownership) and the Naylor Avenue six-lot consolidation to correct right-of-way and parcel issues near Duncan and Route 8. Two conditional-use items related to a massage-therapy approval were withdrawn in consultation with legal counsel.
