The Temecula Valley Unified School District Governing Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to postpone consideration of superintendent goals until its next regular meeting after trustees said the data needed to finalize the goals had not yet arrived.
Board member Michael Barham asked that the agenda item on superintendent goals be postponed “because we do not have the data that we really need to complete that,” saying he expected the information to be released mid‑October. “I thought we would have it. I put it on as a future agenda item last time because I thought we normally, the data is released in mid October, but they're a little late, I think,” Barham said. Board President Dr. Melinda Anderson confirmed that data was “trickling in right now.”
After Barham moved to postpone the item and a trustee seconded, Anderson called for any opposition; the board approved the postponement unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting Anderson moved to approve the evening’s agenda. A trustee seconded the motion and the board adopted the agenda unanimously, with trustees answering the roll call in the affirmative: Wiersma, Morozki, Graham and Anderson. A trustee indicated during agenda review that they intended to pull a consent calendar item related to “Mrs. Lash” for separate consideration when the board reached consent items.
Following the agenda vote, Anderson said the board would meet in closed session “in accordance with Government Code section 54957.7” to consider the items listed on the agenda. The board then recessed into closed session.
No formal action on superintendent goals was taken; the item was postponed for a future meeting pending the arrival of the missing data.
