District 94: levy update shows EAV up; administration plans 2026 auditorium facelift and roof work

What the board heard
Dan reported he has received data from the Winfield and Wayne township assessors and is preparing a levy presentation for November. At a “quick glance,” he said new construction is lower than in past years but the district’s EAV remains higher overall; as a result, “we will not need to hold a Truth in Taxation public hearing as we will be well below that 5% threshold.” Dan said he will deliver a full presentation to the board at the November meeting.
Dan also provided preliminary planning details for 2026 summer construction. Administration is gathering information for a project that will include a facelift to the auditorium, a new roof on the 1926 section of the building, and originally planned repairs to the south parking lot. Dan said the district is likely to postpone the south parking-lot repair for another year to prioritize funds for the auditorium facelift. He told the board the district’s budget for these projects is “about $2,000,000” and that the administration intends to continue working with Allied Facility Partners and DLA Architects and will bring related contracts to the board in November.
Board questions and next steps
Board members asked for clarification on timing and priorities; no formal vote was taken on the levy or the construction projects at the October meeting. Dan said the full levy presentation and proposed contracts will be brought to the November Committee of the Whole meeting for board review.
