The Town of Loxahatchee Groves Special Magistrate recessed a code-enforcement hearing and then granted a 14-day continuance for removal of two recreational vehicles at 14885 North Road, giving the tenant until Oct. 20 to comply before daily fines begin.
Compliance Officer John Suarez presented the town's case in a status/fine-assessment matter (case CE256), saying notices were posted Sept. 9, 2025, and certified mail was returned signed. Suarez reported town staff observed two RVs remaining at the property and recommended a 14-day continuance; if the RVs were not removed the town requested a fine of $150 per day after that period.
Tenant Craig Wells addressed the magistrate and said weather and mud had delayed removal. "That would be more than sufficient," Wells said when asked whether an additional 14 days would allow removal. The magistrate confirmed that if the RVs were removed within the continuance period, no fine would begin. "If they're removed, there is no fine," the magistrate said.
The magistrate ordered compliance within 14 days and set the fine to begin Oct. 21 at $150 per day if the violations remained. She also assessed administrative costs for that hearing in the amount of $234.05, payable within 30 days, and said the town would schedule a fine-assessment hearing on Nov. 3 if compliance was not achieved. The magistrate advised the tenant to contact code enforcement for a reinspection as soon as the items are removed.
The town reported attempts to contact the property owner's attorney; the attorney did not appear in person for the hearing and the town confirmed proper service. The magistrate admitted the town's evidentiary file into the record and said reinspections and administrative tracking of costs should be documented in the file if the matter returns for further proceedings.
