LONGMEADOW, Mass. — The Longmeadow School Committee on Oct. 14 approved handbook language clarifying how families may request accommodations to curriculum, authorized student-activity subaccounts for fiscal 2026, and approved three building-use requests, the committee said at a meeting aired live on LCTV.
The committee adopted handbook language described by staff as consistent with Massachusetts regulations 603 CMR 26.05, clarifying that “families may request information from the building principal on available accommodations related to curriculum content.” Committee members voted to include that handbook language in the K–8 and Longmeadow High School student handbooks.
The handbook change, district officials said, is intended to document existing practice: when families raise concerns about curriculum content staff engage with them and may offer accommodations where appropriate.
