Board approves waste, tire renewals, two athletic construction projects and TRAIN energy amendment

The Robertson County School Board on Oct. 6 approved a set of transportation, facilities and energy-related items including contract renewals, two school construction projects and an amended energy services agreement.
Transportation and facilities: The board approved a one-year extension of last year’s waste-provider bid (Bid Tab 15-50) to Waste Disposal Services, Stinky Pinky Incorporated (no price increase). Jeff White moved to approve the renewal; Connie Hogan seconded and the motion passed by voice vote.
The board also approved honoring last year’s tire-service bids (Bid Tab 15-59) with Best 1 Tire Services, again with no price increase. The motion to approve was made and seconded during the meeting and the chair announced approval.
Construction projects: Springfield High School’s request to construct a softball-field bathroom building was approved. The board saw project signatures and a floor plan in the packet and authorized the work after a motion by Scott Rice and a second by Demetria White.
Greenbrier Middle School’s proposal to construct a batting cage for the school softball program was likewise approved; the packet contained a description, construction list and site location. Jeff White moved approval; Demetria White seconded.
Energy program: The board approved an amended service agreement related to the TRAIN Energy Conservation Infrastructure Improvement Program (service agreement amendments and amended pricing appear in the packet). Mr. Randy Malden, the TRAIN representative, was present for questions. Connie Hogan moved approval; Jeff White seconded and the motion passed.
Board members recorded ‘‘Aye’’ on the motions; the meeting transcript records voice approvals without roll-call tallies. Packets included bid tabs, project drawings and amended pricing for the energy program.
