The Robertson County School Board on Oct. 6 heard a summary of the Director of Schools evaluation and discussed beginning contract-extension negotiations.
Sam Jackson reported he had ‘‘tallied the evaluation forms’’ and concluded that ‘‘Dr. Weeks scored a 96.2% positive rating on his evaluation.’’ Jackson said that under the terms of Weeks’ contract a positive evaluation would prompt consideration of an extension and offered to ‘‘reach out to Dr. Weeks and try to negotiate that, bring it back to the board, sometime fairly soon.’’
Board Chair Jeff White asked Jackson to ‘‘please begin that process forward.’’ The exchange was recorded as direction to staff and representatives to negotiate an extension; no formal vote or contract amendment was taken on Oct. 6.
Weeks thanked the board for the evaluation results and later acknowledged the board’s recognition of achievements at schools and staff, calling the evaluation ‘‘an honor to serve this board.’’ Any formal extension or contract amendment would return to the board for consideration following negotiations.
