RPC director highlights upcoming events, project application deadline and audit timing

Newry said the Vermont Evaluation of Rural Technical Assistance program is continuing and that a "reimagining rural capacity" summit will be held Nov. 13 at a Randolph venue; he said registration is free and that mileage reimbursement and a meal will be available. Newry asked commissioners to encourage regional attendance.
He said the Rutland County Regional Project priority list, a partnership between the Chamber and Rutland Region Economic Development and the RPC, is accepting applications through the Chamber/ED website (or by emailing Lyle at the address Newry read aloud). Newry said applications are due Monday, Nov. 3, and emphasized that the priority list does not directly provide funding but can help projects compete for program dollars administered by regional partners.
Newry also mentioned a municipal complete‑streets training in West Rutland on Thursday and other upcoming trainings; commissioners were asked to contact staff for details. He said the RPC had submitted FY25 financial materials to auditors earlier than in previous years and that the commission might be able to review and vote on the audit in November if the auditors return the report promptly.
Newry gave staff recognition to Mary Kay and Karen for audit preparation and praised planning staff for outreach work on several initiatives. The remarks were informational; no formal actions were taken.
