County mayor says Menace Road fire station parking project finished; city annexation process underway

County Mayor reported that the parking lot project at the Menace Road Fire Station was completed and that the county received the work for the original bid amount, which the mayor said was about $100,000 lower than the other bidder.

The mayor also updated commissioners on a separate, city-led annexation process tied to the site. He said the annexation submittal includes a plat showing a road from Powerline Road to the highway and that the matter is expected to go before the planning commission this month. Bids on the building portion of the project were opened last month, the mayor said; he did not provide a contract start date.
