Zoning Commission postpones hearing on Z.C. Case 24-11 to Oct. 20

The District of Columbia Zoning Commission announced it will postpone the hearing on Z.C. Case No. 24-11 — a consolidated planned-unit development and related map amendment by Jamal Schafer LLC for Square 4268 — until Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, at about 4:15 p.m., Chairperson Anthony Hood said.
"The zoning commission does not have a quorum to move forward with the hearing and schedule," Chairperson Anthony Hood said, and added that the postponement was necessary because one appointee was absent and a federal shutdown affected scheduling. "The hearing will be postponed until Monday, 10/20/2025, this coming Monday, roughly about 04:15," Hood said.
The commission noted a related item, Z.C. Case No. 20-08F, will be heard before 24-11 on Oct. 20; the Chair said the commission expected to take up 24-11 immediately after 20-08F. Participants were directed to contact the Office of Zoning or review the case materials on the Office of Zoning website for additional information, Hood said.
No formal vote was recorded on the postponement during the proceeding. The announcement was made at the start of the session after staff confirmed virtual connections. Staff present for the session included Ella Ackerman, identified as the Office of Zoning secretary, and Paul Young, who handled virtual operations.
The postponement delays public and agency presentations and any public testimony scheduled for Z.C. Case No. 24-11. The commission did not set a more specific start time beyond "about 4:15 p.m." for the Oct. 20 session and asked interested parties to monitor the Office of Zoning docket for updates.
