The Eden Prairie City Council held a public hearing Oct. 21 and adopted the city’s annual resolution approving special assessments for 2025.
City staff described the list, which includes assessments for tree removals, mowing and weed abatement, sewer and water connection fees and development‑related charges. Staff said many assessments result from property owners’ requests to have the city perform a service and recover the cost through an assessment; some assessments reflect city‑initiated abatement work. The packet lists several dozen assessments (the meeting packet contains the full itemized list).
Staff noted that property owners retain a statutory period following the council action to pay the charge before it is forwarded to the county tax statement with interest. The council closed the public hearing and adopted the resolution approving the assessments by voice vote.
The action moves the assessment list to the county tax roll process unless property owners choose to pay the amounts within the 30‑day window specified in the adopted resolution.
