The Stillwater Chamber of Commerce told the Stillwater Economic Development Authority it is advancing regional partnerships, marketing and workforce work and plans an economic summit Nov. 14 and a data partnership with the Center on Rural Innovation.
The Stillwater Chamber of Commerce presented its quarterly economic development report to the Stillwater Economic Development Authority, describing recent marketing work, regional partnerships, workforce initiatives and upcoming events.
In the presentation Miss Moore (Chamber representative) described a Community Marketing Partnership Program ad developed with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and Visit Stillwater; the featured QR code links to a resource hub directing users to the regional airport or the Chamber's economic development pages. "This is the ad that will be in the Thunder Magazine," Moore said, explaining the program will help the city track interest and where inquiries originate.
The Chamber has launched a regional economic development roundtable that included representatives from Cushing, Perkins and Perry and participation from county commissioners, Moore said. The Chamber also hosted a panel on commercial real estate investment and completed its Small Business University, with 19 participants and 17 graduates from this year's cohort.
Moore said a potential onshoring project remains under discussion; Meridian Technology (regional partner) was mentioned as a local asset and the Department of Commerce visited the company's overseas location as part of recruitment efforts. The Chamber reported it is entering an agreement with the Center on Rural Innovation (CORI) to bring data and workforce analysis to local planning and to help translate analytics into actionable programs. Moore described CORI's role in prior statewide projects and said the group's data platform supports micropolitan comparisons and workforce insights.
Upcoming items flagged in the report included an economic summit Nov. 14 featuring state and regional speakers, a "new to Stillwater" mixer to help recent arrivals integrate into community services, and the Chamber hosting the All In for Oklahoma meeting in March 2026.
Questions from councilors during the session focused on clarifying CORI's role and staff capacity; Moore replied that CORI maintains data scientists and will support local data analysis and implementation steps. The report was received during the SEDA meeting; no formal vote was required for the presentation.
