A staff member said contractors had been considered but in-house work could reduce cost.
The meeting included a supplier estimate for adding two mirror-image slips to match the existing configuration; commissioners noted the waterfront is heavily used on summer weekends and that additional slips would improve capacity. Commissioners also discussed dock needs at other launches and said some repairs might be eligible for grant funding; staff suggested including dock replacement needs in the budget planning process.
No purchases were authorized at the meeting; staff will inspect the beach and docks, follow up with the town engineer on the rock/sand question, and return with more detailed cost estimates and any grant opportunities.
