Snoqualmie — During the Oct. 6 Snoqualmie Planning Commission meeting, Councilmember Johnson updated commissioners on three council actions.
He said the City awarded the river‑trail construction contract to Accord Contractors, the lowest qualified bidder among eight firms. The project includes a soft‑surface trail segment from Sandy Cove to a crossing just south of Snoqualmie Parkway, bank stabilization and pedestrian bridges; Johnson said funding will come from the non‑utility capital fund and the contract is in the neighborhood of $3 million.
Johnson also reported that the council’s affordable‑housing request for qualifications (RFQ) did not produce any suitable proposals and the council is shifting to a more narrowly scoped request for proposals (RFP) approach. Finally, he said Snoqualmie and North Bend’s councils agreed to a policing contract that runs through March 2026, after which King County will assume policing for North Bend.
The three items are informational to the planning commission; staff and commissioners asked follow‑up questions about funding and project timing.
