They noted North Bay was originally designed as a middle school and that Hillcrest has classrooms with adjacent restrooms, so facility modifications would vary by location. Concerns raised at the meeting included an additional student transition (after second grade), impacts on families with siblings in different buildings, transportation changes and staff reassignment logistics. Board members asked for outreach and research: staff indicated they would conduct listening sessions with teachers and parents starting the following week, analyze facility and transportation impacts, and model the financial implications before any formal recommendation to the board.
