Valley View board approves September financial reports and $6.06 million in October bills

The Valley View CUSD 365U Board of Education on Oct. 20 approved the treasurer's action report for September and a schedule of October bills, including debt-service payments and multiple consent items.

The treasurer presented the financial packet, which the board described as containing standard schedule financial reports, balance sheets, a summary of revenues and expenditures, interim obligations and debt service payments totaling $11,675,511.82. The board then approved a separate schedule of bills for October across six funds totaling $6,059,440.33.

The board took the votes by roll call. Member Pipkin, Member Heil, Member Emma Shrove, Secretary Sutherland and President Pro Tem Tim Campbell voted yes on the treasurer's report and on the schedule of bills; the motions passed.

Board members also approved by roll call the consent agenda of 15 items, which included minutes from multiple meetings, field trip requests for Bolingbrook High School, Jane Addams and other schools, gifts for Oak View Elementary School, and student activity contracts such as fundraising agreements with Domino's Pizza and Interstate Studio. The consent agenda passed with the same recorded yes votes.

Administrators noted that informational items included a summary of investments for September, a state funding update, property tax receipts, and activity in the all-schools trust account. Board members did not request further discussion during the meeting.

The financial approvals clear the district to pay the listed obligations and proceed with trips and contracts included in the consent agenda; the board did not add conditions or amendments during the Oct. 20 meeting.
