Lebanon Valley Economic Development Corporation staff presented two Next Generation Farmer Loan Program applications and commissioners approved both loan resolutions for submission to the state.
Heath Bemis Derker said the Sycamore Spring Orchard loan was resubmitted with a clarified ownership designation—Ryan Hare and RKH Holding LLC—because the state required specific ownership information. The property is an 82.5‑acre site; the Next Generation requested funding of $649,000 for production land and eligible agricultural uses (crops and livestock); loan funds will not be used for non‑agricultural or pleasure animals. First Citizens Bank will cover a separate financing portion for non‑eligible uses.
The second approved loan is for Andrew and Charlene Neuswanger, who seek $638,400 to purchase a 30.5‑acre Fredericksburg property on Warner Road; Next Generation funds will exclude the house and garage, which the borrowers will finance themselves. The applicants anticipate future construction of poultry houses, but that future phase is not part of the current loan request.
Commissioners approved the resolutions authorizing loan submissions in cooperation with Jackson Township Industrial Authority for the Neuswanger loan and for the Sycamore Spring Orchard property.
