- County engineer employment agreement and interlocal extension: The board approved an employment agreement for Andy Wicks (effective Oct. 20) as county engineer and also approved a short overlap/extension of an existing interlocal (28E) agreement with Mills County to provide continuity during transition; the board discussed a roughly nine- to ten-day overlap so the incoming engineer could be brought up to speed.
- Assessor homestead and tax-credit applications: The board accepted staff recommendations on a batch of assessor applications presented by Dixie Wilson, accounting technician in the auditor’s office. The packet included recommended allowances and disallowances for homestead, military, disabled veteran and family-farm classifications; one family-farm application was recommended disallowed pending clarification about a private roadway and parcel consolidation.
