Planning Board continues 301 Essex Street amendment request to Nov. 20

The Salem City Planning Board on a roll-call vote continued consideration of an application to amend the site-plan decision for 301 Essex Street (Map 26, Lot 458) to the board's November 20 meeting. Scott Grover, attorney for Jerry's LLC, asked for the continuance to allow time to prepare and file a traffic demand management plan after the city's new parking ordinance shifted authority over parking adequacy to the planning board.
Grover said, "I'm Scott Grover. I'm here this evening representing Jerry's LLC, and we're here to request a continuance of this matter to your meeting on November 20." He told the board the application had been filed before a proposed parking ordinance change and that, after consulting planning staff, his team planned to submit a single amended site-plan review decision together with a traffic demand management plan rather than pursue piecemeal changes.
Chair and board members moved and seconded a motion to continue to Nov. 20. The board took a roll-call vote and the motion carried unanimously.
The continuance places the item back on the November 20 agenda; no formal decision or binding change to the site plan was made at Tuesday's meeting.
