School Committee approves policy-review schedule, website policy consolidation, strategic-plan timeline and superintendent goals

The Duxbury School Committee voted to set a prioritized policy-review schedule, to direct the superintendent to consolidate the district's scattered policy PDFs into a single master document on the schools' website, to endorse the strategic-plan engagement timeline and to approve the superintendent's 2025-26 goals.

Policy prioritization and MASC alerts

Committee member Matt presented a proposed prioritization matrix that ranks the district's policies by (1) how long it has been since the last review and (2) strategic alignment to the school committee goals, superintendent goals and the district strategic plan. The matrix also flags Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC) updates so the policy subcommittee can escalate changes where MASC has updated model language. After discussion the committee approved the prioritization schedule and directed the policy subcommittee to treat policies last reviewed more than five years ago or with "date not recorded" as high priority.

Website consolidation and archival process

The committee also directed the superintendent to replace the district's individual PDF policy files on the website with a single master policy manual to improve accessibility, searchable access and archival versioning. Committee members emphasized the change would improve screen-reader accessibility and make it easier to show update dates and archived versions of prior policies. Strategic-plan engagement timeline and goals approval

The committee formally endorsed the 2026-2029 strategic-plan timeline and community engagement plan presented by the superintendent's office; the committee had previously discussed the timeline during earlier work sessions.
