At the Oct. 1 meeting zoning staff provided an update on active enforcement cases and permit administration.
Key enforcement updates included: - 2787 Bell Road: transcript records the case went to summary judgment on Sept. 12; no outcome reported yet and a court date was noted as pending in November. Staff described the matter as a long-running process. - 2601 Bell Road: staff reported an inoperable vehicle was removed that Saturday using a title-less-vehicle affidavit process. - 2258 Chapel: referred to the Butler County prosecutor’s office to begin court and fine proceedings for overgrowth enforcement. - 6225 and 6410 Cincinnati Brookville Road: staff reported vehicle-related cleanup in process; one property received a judge order to abate and is slowly complying.
Staff also reported operational changes: going forward, every permit will require two signatures (chair or vice chair plus staff) to reduce single-staff approvals and increase oversight.
Why it matters: these enforcement items show the township is actively pursuing code compliance through removal, abatement orders and court referrals; the two-signature permit change alters the township’s internal permitting process.
Next steps: staff will continue court processes where applicable, monitor cleanup and present updates at future meetings.
