The staff member said faculty are packing and inventorying classroom materials now, labeling boxes by new room numbers and hallway colors. "Our moving plan is October 15," the staff member said, adding that moving companies have been invited to the old junior high to prepare quotes and logistics.
The district intends to meet with directors on Oct. 27 to finalize logistics and to brief faculty that afternoon. The goal is to complete the move before Thanksgiving so students return to the new building after the holiday. The staff member said technology installations have largely been completed and that the cafeteria equipment team had trained staff on new systems.
Once the move is complete, the district plans a ribbon-cutting, an open house the night before students return and transportation adjustments. The staff member also reported that an overhead-inspection tied to a Rural Development (USDA) component passed, and cabinetry and equipment are being installed.
No formal board votes occurred on the move timetable; the staff member said exact move dates depend on moving-truck availability and confirmation of the final inspection.
