IPRTF steering committee sets year-end report timeline and asks committees to submit 2026 priorities by Nov. 30

Steering committee members reviewed a timeline for the IPRTF's 2025 year-end report and the planning cycle for 2026, asking committee chairs to identify priorities and action plans by Nov. 30 to feed a draft calendar and action plan for approval in January.

Holly (staff member) said the year-end report is being drafted by staff with support from Jennifer Moon of Moonlight Solutions and Marty; the report will align accomplishments and priorities to the IPRTF's 10 goals and crosswalk to the Justice Project implementation plan. "In November, we'll have the first draft for the steering committee and the IPRTF for feedback subsequently as we do, and then get that feedback," Holly said.

Key dates and requirements discussed: - Staff will compile committee accomplishments and draft the year-end report now; first draft to steering/IPRTF in November. - Committee chairs were asked to identify 2026 priorities and forward them by Nov. 30 so staff can prepare a draft action plan and calendar for January approval. - The second and final draft of the year-end report will be presented to the steering committee and the IPRTF in December; the report will be scheduled for county council in January when docket timing permits.

Why it matters: Committee chairs said clearer guidance and coordination will help reduce duplicated discussion across committees and better align committee work with the IPRTF's top goals, including data sharing, diversion, and the county's capital project planning (notably the jail and behavioral care center).

Support and follow-up: Steering co-chairs Peter and Heather offered assistance to committee co-chairs to help organize 2026 calendars. Staff committed to sending committee chairs links to the relevant RCW and the IPRTF enabling ordinance and to schedule a continuous-improvement review of statutory roles and steering committee scope.
