The Atherton Town Council appointed Siriam Iyer to the Environmental Programs Committee (EPC) after hearing from the applicant, who spoke remotely and described his background as an engineer and entrepreneur.
Anthony (staff) introduced Iyer’s application and said Iyer had reviewed recent agendas and demonstrated an interest in serving. Iyer told the council he previously chaired the transportation committee, holds an engineering degree and an MBA, and has lived in Atherton since 2014; he said his primary residence is on Green Oaks and he will be returning to town later in October after travel.
Council members said the committee had experienced quorum challenges and welcomed Iyer’s willingness to serve. A motion to appoint Iyer passed by voice vote.
Iyer thanked the council and said he looked forward to serving on the committee.
