Council adopts 2026 budget and tax rates; ordinance passes 4–1

Council adopted the 2026 budget appropriations and tax rates on final reading, following a public hearing held on Sept. 11. Staff said no changes were requested after the public hearing and recommended adoption to complete the DLGF submission requirements.
On a roll call vote the ordinance passed 4–1. Councilmembers Jason Puckett, Robert Pope, Greg Susan and Don Loudon voted in favor; Councilmember Bill Holland cast the lone dissenting vote. The town manager said staff will submit the adopted budget to the Department of Local Government Finance as required.
No amendments to the adopted figures were made at the meeting and staff said they will proceed with the implementation and monitoring tasks associated with the new fiscal year appropriations.
