Council accepted an annexation petition from developer JLR Lazaro for a southern portion of the Shiloh Creek Estates area during the Oct. 9 meeting. Planning staff said the developer, identified as an Avon resident who has previously built developments in town, requested annexation to enable future development of the parcel.
Planning staff said accepting the petition starts the town’s statutory annexation process. The town did not take final zoning action at the meeting; staff said future steps will include public notices, any required hearings and referrals to the planning commission as prescribed by state law.
Council voted to accept the petition; staff said they will proceed with the annexation process and return with the required follow‑up materials for council consideration.
