Yelm council adopts ordinance correcting 1993 annexation legal description for Yelm Loop

The City Council on Oct. 14 adopted Ordinance No. 1135 to amend a portion of an earlier annexation ordinance after the Washington State Department of Transportation identified an error in the legal description.
A city staff member told the council the amendment is limited to correcting the legal description in the ordinance that governed a 1993 annexation and that WSDOT requested the change because the area will be part of the new Yelm Loop. The staff member said the ordinance packet included a copy of the old ordinance and a map showing the boundary between 103rd Avenue and SR‑507, from Creek Street east toward the Walmart property.
Councilman Crossman moved to adopt Ordinance No. 1135, amending section 1 of Ordinance No. 465; Councilman Hess seconded. The motion passed on a voice vote; the council recorded no roll‑call tally on the record and the mayor declared the motion carried.
There was no additional discussion or amendments recorded during the meeting. The ordinance was presented and adopted on the same night.
