The Winnebago County Board approved zoning variance VO325 on Oct. 23 by a roll‑call vote of 15 yes, 4 no and 1 absent.

Board Member Webster moved to approve VO325 and Board Member Gorrell seconded the motion. Webster noted the matter had been before the board as old business and asked that the board act on the zoning board of appeals recommendation. Multiple board members spoke in favor, including Board Member Sweeney, who said the county should “put yourself in the shoes” of affected constituents and complete the related driveway allowance to complement an already‑approved garage. Board Member Valdez also spoke during discussion.

The chairman instructed the clerk to call the roll; the clerk recorded the vote as 15 yes, 4 no, 1 absent and announced, “The variance is approved.” The chairman noted the variance included the conditions as issued by the Zoning Board of Appeals.

The approval was on the record as incorporating zoning‑board conditions; the board did not amend those conditions at the meeting.
