Public commenters to Orange County School Board urge action on staff conduct, invite schools to community festival

Alyssa Waller, speaking on behalf of the volunteer group Cultivating Community Connections for Tapestry 2025, invited board members, students and staff to participate in a community festival on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Short Street. Waller described Tapestry 2025 as a community celebration featuring local vendors, music, food trucks, art and family activities, and she asked schools to consider performing or exhibiting student work and to encourage participation.
The board closed public comment and moved on to routine business. No board action or response to the specific staff-employment question was recorded during the public-comment period; a board member reminded the audience that personnel issues are handled outside of public comment.
