Commissioners approve routine contracts: UPS maintenance, road signs purchase, interpretive panel, and hazardous materials grant closeout

Blair County commissioners approved a range of routine procurement and grant items during the Oct. 23 meeting, including maintenance and purchase agreements and a grant status report closeout.
The board approved a one-year renewal with GenMark Schneider Electric (Advantage Prime Service) for maintenance of the VA Galaxy 5,000 uninterrupted power supply system covering Nov. 1, 2025, through Oct. 31, 2026, at $5,800; authorized a purchase-under-threshold agreement with Pennsylvania Municipal Inc. for county road and bridge signs as set out in county purchase orders; and approved a quote from Paneer dated Oct. 2 to design and produce an interpretive panel and exhibit base for the Fort Roberdeau lead mine exhibit in the amount of $1,810. The presenter confirmed that the panel will be paid from a donation rather than general county funds.
The board also approved submission of the federal fiscal year 2023'2025 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) year 3 annual status report to the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) as a closeout statement that the listed projects were completed for the period April 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2025. Each item was moved, seconded and approved by recorded "aye" votes with no recorded opposition at the meeting.
