Members used the meeting’s "good of the order" time to share community events and outreach requests.
Tom announced a Thurston County Homebuying Expo scheduled for Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lacey Community Center; jurisdictions and staff have been coordinating on the event.
Meg Martin said the annual Day of Remembrance — a community memorial for unclaimed remains and people who died while experiencing homelessness or by suicide in the last year — will be Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. at Mills and Mills Funeral Home in Tumwater and invited attendees and name submissions for the memorial.
Council staff reminded members that the Thurston County Community Health Assessment survey is open for a limited time and encouraged outreach, especially to populations underrepresented in responses (the transcript cited Hispanic residents, men and rural communities) and noted incentives available through public-health outreach.
