The proposed renewal would include a 4 percent annual increase in each of the two years; the presenter said that compares with prior contract increases of 5 and 6 percent in earlier years and represents a moderation of recent cost growth.
Board members asked whether a longer-term contract had been considered. Staff replied both districts preferred a two-year term and that the districts may bid jointly after the two-year period.
The board did not take action on the item at the Oct. 15 meeting; the presenter said a contract approval would come later if the districts proceed.
