Mayor honors Steven Keeler as Rock Fantasy marks 40 years in downtown Middletown

Mayor DeStefano and council members presented a plaque to Steven Keeler, owner and founder of Rock Fantasy, recognizing 40 years of the store’s presence in downtown Middletown.
The mayor described Rock Fantasy as a longtime downtown institution and introduced Keeler before presenting the plaque.
“We wanted to at least recognize Steven, present him with this plaque from the city of Middletown,” the mayor said during the recognition.
Keeler told the council the business opened Nov. 5, 1985, and described how it evolved from concert T-shirt sales to a record and pinball hub. “It’s definitely been a long journey. I don't know where the time went. You know? And, 40 years, and I I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. So we just signed another lease for another 5 years, and and I love what I do,” Keeler said.
Keeler also said the store will mark the anniversary with a concert on Nov. 1 and thanked the council for the plaque.
No vote or formal action was taken on the recognition; the remarks were part of the meeting’s ceremonial recognitions and community updates.
