The San Marino Unified School District Board of Education on Oct. 14 approved the annual parcel-tax accountability report for fiscal year 2024–25, which summarized how parcel-tax funds were used to support district staffing and programs.
Staff reported two parcel taxes: Measure R and Measure E. According to the presentation, Measure R collects $415 per parcel (adjusted annually for inflation) and generates roughly $1.7 million per year; in 2024–25 Measure R funded the equivalent of 11.5 full-time positions including teachers, a counselor, a systems analyst and a psych tech media specialist. Measure E was reported to collect $1,052.63 per parcel and to generate just over $4,000,000 annually; in 2024–25 Measure E supported about 28.4 full-time equivalent positions including teachers, a counselor and technology staff. The staff presentation recommended board approval of the accountability report.
Board members asked clarifying questions and then approved the report by roll-call vote. The presentation said Measure E’s current term was noted in the staff report; staff did not modify parcel-tax rates at the meeting.
The report is intended to provide transparency about parcel-tax spending on classroom instruction, class-size management and personnel costs.
