ANDOVER, Kan. — The Andover Planning Commission on Nov. 4 approved a preliminary plat, called the Meadows Fourth, that would replat underused pad sites at the Andover Plaza Shopping Center into three commercial lots to encourage development.
Staff told the commission the project would reconfigure two unused pad sites near Andover Road into three lots and that existing utilities are available; staff noted some concerns about sewer access and required site plan review for later design approvals. The applicant supplied a parking study indicating how on‑site parking could be reconfigured; staff said the parking study will be reviewed in detail during site plan review.
Commissioner David Foley moved approval of the preliminary plat; the motion was seconded and unanimously approved by the commission.
Ending: Staff said the preliminary plat clears the way to prepare a final plat and site plan review; the site plan review committee will evaluate parking layout and sewer connections before any building permits are issued.
